Holidays in Lazarevskoye with kids — beaches, parks, the aquapark and safety
Lazarevskoye has long been one of the friendliest family resorts in Greater Sochi. Long pebble beaches, southern Russia’s biggest aquapark, a dolphinarium and a roller-coaster park — everything sits inside a 20-minute walk and a family holiday here normally takes care of itself.
Beach with kids
The central beach is the most convenient for families: gentle entry to the water, lifeguards on duty, lifts, drinks, ice cream, shower towers. Pebbles can be hot at midday — bring beach shoes for the kids. Mornings (before 10) and late afternoons (after 17) are the best time with little ones.
Aquatoria water park
The largest in southern Russia, walking distance from the beach. Open from mid-May to late September. There are gentle slides for children from 3, a separate kids’ pool with a «pirate ship» and big slides for teens and adults. Plan a half-day visit — you’ll need it.
Dolphinarium
Two shows per day in season. Kids love it, especially the under-10s — the show is dynamic and easy to follow without language.
Park «Patient Drop»
A small but real amusement park with rides for every age group: from a kiddie carousel to a 30-metre drop tower. Best to go on a weekday after 17 to avoid the queues.
Day trips with kids
33 Waterfalls (kids love splashing in the cold pools), the Volkonsky Dolmen (an easy 30-min walk), Berendeyevo Tsarstvo (a fairy-tale forest with seven waterfalls). All can be done in half a day from Lazarevskoye.
Safety
Sun protection: SPF 30+, a hat and a t-shirt for the first few days. Drink plenty of water, give the kids a break from the sun every 90 minutes. Sea: green-flag days are safe to swim, on yellow stay close to the shore, on red — don’t go in.
Where to stay with kids
Pick rooms with A/C, a kettle/microwave and a calm inner yard. Valeo has all of that, plus the owner welcomes families and can arrange a baby cot on request.
