Weather in Lazarevskoye, month by month — when to go and what to pack

Lazarevskoye sits in the humid subtropical zone — the warmest climate on the Russian coast. Swimming season runs from late May to mid-October. Below is a concise look at every month with air temperature, water temperature and what to pack.

May–June: warm-up

Air 20–25 °C, water 18–22 °C. By the end of May the water is comfortable for adults, kids will want a few warmer days yet. Rain showers are common but short. Pack: a swimsuit, a light jacket for the evenings, a sun hat.

July–August: peak heat

Air 28–32 °C, water 24–27 °C. The bustle peaks — beaches full, prices at their highest. Bring: A/C-equipped accommodation (a must), light cotton clothes, SPF 50, lots of water. The mornings (until 10) and evenings (after 18) are the most pleasant.

September: the «velvet season»

Air 24–28 °C, water 23–25 °C. Locals’ favourite month — sea still warm, no more heat exhaustion, prices drop. Pack the same as for summer plus a thin sweatshirt for the evenings.

October: pre-winter quiet

Air 18–23 °C, water 20–22 °C in the first half, 17–19 °C by the end. Swimming is still on for the hardened. Hiking is at its best: forests turn red, no mosquitoes. Pack: jeans, sweatshirt, sneakers, light raincoat.

November–March: winter mode

Air 6–12 °C, water 9–11 °C. Quiet, rainy, occasionally sunny. Mountains (Krasnaya Polyana) get a serious snow base — ski-trip time. Pack: warm jacket, waterproof shoes, an umbrella.

April: spring

Air 12–17 °C, water 12–14 °C. Cherries and magnolias in bloom — Instagram-perfect. Swimming is for the truly brave. Pack: a windbreaker, sneakers, a sun hat for the warmer days.

Best time to visit

September wins on every count: warm sea, comfortable air, fewer people, lower prices. Late August and early October are equally great.
